Avirault, officially the Kingdom of Avirault, is a country located primarily in [Part of Continent], and is bordered by [Nations]. It has several overseas departments and territories, including the territory of Afriania. This gives Avirault a major amount of influence, and global access. It is also a primary component of the Kingdom's power projection. The nation thus spans multiple continents, and contains numerous minority peoples. It has a rough population of around 62,000,000 however it is facing rapid population growth, so the said number is not definitive. The largest city is Chaseu, and serves as the capital city of the Kingdom. Other larger cities are Bideu, Montraille, Viglierre, Demarz and Gadurscone. The country is ruled by a hereditary head of state, also known as a monarch. The said monarch is currently Charles VI, of the House of Chaseu. Other government functionalities are usually based on meritocratic governance, but almost always tied in some fashion to the Monarchy.
The lands of Avirault have been long inhabitated by various peoples, though none more influential than the Chasei. They would go on to form the city of Chaseu, an ancient city-state, ruled by a Rex (King). The said city-state however, would grow rapidly throughout it's history and eventually reach it's zenith, becoming the Chasian Empire. The Chasian Empire would quickly expand further, with a direction towards the east, crossing the Achylean Mountains and conducting various wars and campaigns. The said Zenith would be challenged during the Crisis of the Third Century. The Empire would however endure for several hundred years more, until eventually, 3222 Before the War, the Empire collapsed due to a string of incompetent or senile rulers. This period would also be known as the Dark Ages for many, due to the hampering of civilizational progress and centralized authority. The said period would end soon however, with the Unification of Avirault, by Henri I de Chaseu.
Following unification, Avirault immediatelly embarked on numerous wars to further solidify and unify their lands, leading to the consolidation of the first seven provinces. The wars of unification, or conquest, would continue for several more centuries, eventually ending somewhere around 1845 B.W. With the full consolidation of the Kingdom, Philippe V would begin grand colonial projects and expansions, most notably in his conquest of Afriania, the largest overseas province of Avirault even to today. Following such colonial exploits, and certain overseas wars, Avirault entered a general era of peace and stability, funded by the extensive profits and exploits from the colonies. The era is thus marked as the Belle Époque, as a general era of optimism, progress and reformation of the society of Avirault. Those hopes would however be shattered during the Aviraultine Revolution. The Revolution deeply scarred Aviraultine society, and resulted in great meassures of repression, establishing the Reactionary and Absolute Monarchy that has despite many obstacles, remained present to this day.
The Kingdom showed extensive prowess during the Great War, exposing an unexpected understanding of military affairs. The staunch defense of Avirault, and it's eventual victory, resulted in the further strengthening of the monarchy and the Royal Cult around it. Avirault is regarded as a major world power, and often times a de-facto superpower. The society of Avirault remains heavily conservative, and due to extensive youth programs, staunchly royalist. There have been no calls to change this from Metropolitan Avirault, however signs of unrest are brewing in the Territory of Afriania. Avirault however remains a major world center of art, philosophy, culture and other 'Enlightened' pursuits. It boasts one of the world's largest economies in the world, and one of the largest military forces in the world. Avirault remains the symbol of conservativism and monarchism of the world.
