Kouralian Battlefleets

The Navy of Kouralia is divided up into a number of organisational Numbered Fleets which remain on station in a given area. They are supported by the operational Battlefleets which are a collection of warships that can be swapped between Battlefleets which are commanded by a particular officer. Each Battlefleet will generally transition between Operational Deployment, Short-Term Maintenance, and Long-Term Maintenance. In peacetime, each Battlefleet will alternate between deploying to a particular Fleet and maintenance refitting in Dockyards. At times of war, a single Fleet may contain multiple Battlefleets.

Each Battlefleet contains a number of Battlesquadrons, however there are other Squadrons which don't fall into a Battlefleet- such as Corvette Squadrons of the Home Fleet or the Mine Countermeasure Squadrons and Hydrographic Squadrons of the Survey Fleet. A Battlesquadron is a Squaron intended to fight as a unit, as opposed to a Squadron which is merely a grouping of ships.

A Battlefleet is commanded by an XYZ, usually operating from a Temeraire-Class Guided Missile Cruiser in the Cruiser Battlesquadron.

Carrier Battlesquadron

A Carrier Battlesquadron is the core of any Battlefleet as the aviation power able to be launched from the Hero-Class Super-Carrier is what gives it extreme range and what carries out the majority of surveillance and combat support capabilities, such as submarine hunting. This Supercarrier is supported by a number of Escort vessels.

Cruiser Battlesquadron

Rather than being based around a major aviation hull, the Cruiser Battlesquadron is based around the large missile-carrying hull of a Temeraire-Class Guided Missile Cruiser alongside a significantly smaller Flight-Deck Cruiser.

Two Escort Battlegroups

The two Escort Battlegroups are fundamentally smaller versions of the Carrier Battlesquadron which are less able to project power in an extended engagement, but which still rely purely on their Embarked Aviation forces for offensive firepower.
