The L11 is an Arthuristan semi-automatic pistol, developed to replace the L9A1 and Webley revolver as the standard military and law-enforcement sidearm.
The L11 uses a standard Browning-style short recoil mechanism. The weapon is fired by an internal striker which is pre-cocked upon loading, ensuring that the operator will experience smooth, consistent trigger pull in the region of 24-28N. The safety is placed on the trigger rather than on the frame or slide, eliminating the need to fumble for safety in an emergency draw, unlike the legacy single-action only Hi-Power pistol.
The pistol is capable of accommodating different hand-sizes through interchangeable grip backstraps. Under-barrel accessory rail and threaded barrel come as standard for the easy attachmemt of accessories, while additional rails may be fitted to the top of the slide in order to mount small red-dot sights. Tritium-dot front and rear sights come as standard.
The L11C is the designation for the compact variant of the pistol, and L11S for the sub-compact. The L11PD is a pistol-calibre carbine variant with a lengthened 112mm barrel and extended forestock to cover it, an L-shaped side-folding stock, as well as accessory rail systems for lights and mini-red dot sight.
The L11 is designed around the 6.5×25mm CBJ penetrator round, which has proven to be highly effective against most commonly-available types of soft body armour. The military and law-enforcement service model can also be chambered in conventional 9×19mm Parabellum cartridge without modification. Weapons sold on a commercial basis to civilian sports-shooters are chambered in 9x19 or 10x22mm short only and cannot be converted to fire armour-piercing ammunition.
