Tracks
The Broad-gauge Track is a 3,000 mm gauge of track. The track is made out of high-strength titanium-steel alloy with reinforced concrete foundations to properly anchor the tracks to the ground and to prevent the tracks from corroding.
These tracks cost about G$5,000 per kilometer to install. These tracks will cost about G$5 million per thousand kilometer to install but will not need maintenance for decades.
Locomotive
The normal locomotive is a 400 ton (500 tons fully fueled) diesel-electric locomotive with 100,000 Liters (85 tons) of diesel fuel and 10 tons of coolant. The locomotive has a 10 MW Diesel engine. The locomotive could run for 48 hours without needing to refuel. The top speed of the locomotive is 90 kmph (25 m/s), though the speed limit is an imposed artificial limit to ensure the train does not derail. Each train has an engine car behind the locomotive that has the same engine and fuel resources, but has a ventilation system instead of a control room, as this car is controlled from the locomotive directly.
A Locomotive section can produce up to 1,000 kN (500 kN each) of force from its 20 MW total engine power generation capacity. The train can reach full speed within about 135 seconds.
Carriages
Each train typically has ten carriages of 30 meters in length and 5 meters in width. Railcars are numbered based on distance from the locomotive, with lower numbers being closer to the locomotive. Each carriage has sixteen wheels. Each normal carriage could weigh up to 250 tons per car.
