In Gallacia, the Saletrist States, in 1289, Archbishop Mercius IV (1264–1298) called for the various states which owed allegiance to the Saletrist religion to wrest the Trihhimic nations from pagan control in retaliation of the persecution of Saletrists in the peninsula. In his document, Mercius IV spoke of the injustices commited against Saletrists and attempted to appeal to the natural sense of desire to please the deity of the Saletrist religion, Mephithelaieh. He urged Saletrists continent-wide to stop infighting and, rather, unite against the southern pagans. Most notably, Mercius IV promised on the behalf of the Mother that those who fought for their Mother would certainly be saved and enlightened. He addressed in a speech as follows:

"O faithful followers of Mephithelaieh the Mother most high, it is well-known that the damned and wretched, paganistic enemies of her the good and righteous mother. I tell you the truth, the peoples west to my home have burned the churches and hanged the valiant martyrs. They have set their eyes on stone statues instead of erecting sanctified temples and burning offerings to her. They have used our fellows in Trihimania as horses and flayed the poor women. I should think not to say the injustices they have done to the children, the little warriors of the Mother. It is clear that it is our sovereign, spiritual duty to enlighten the fools before they are cursed to the Void.

"Most blessed of saints, remember when Nicholius the Beloved preached against the unenlightened, and draw upon his divine-granted strength to convert the pagans, for as he has said, 'I tell you the truth, you bishops who do not preach are not bishops' [Nich. 12]. Let not the violence of the inhabitants of Trihimania hold you back from preaching, for if you do you are surely damned in the eyes of the Mother. Our faith is stopped in the south, and our brethren are killed, and yet you fight amongst yourself. I command you all in the name of the Mother, preach and fight and toil against the pagans!"
