Life is Golden is an Vitosian reality television series which focuses on the personal and professional lives of the Golden family. The series came about due to the fame of Olympic athlete and two time Global Ninja Crusaders finalist, Seth Golden.

Diane Melissa Golden (nee Livingston) is the mother of Evan, Joey, Marie, Olivia, Seth and Tony as well as the wife of Eddie. Following Season 5, both Diane and Eddie requested to be demoted to focus more on themselves than the show.

Eddie Golden

Eduardo Manuel Golden is the father of Evan, Joey, Marie, Olivia, Seth and Tony as well as the husband of Diane. Following Season 5, both Diane and Eddie requested to be demoted to focus more on themselves than the show.

Evan Golden

Evan Gualberto Golden is Diane and Eddie's second child. He and his wife, Macey Golden, have three children together.

Joey Golden

Joseph Eduardo Golden is Diane and Eddie's third child. His scandals led to his demotion from the main cast following Season 1. In Season 2, his behaviour led to an enormous fight midway through the season between Joey and Seth where Joey got physical, leading to Joey's permanent departure from the show.

Olivia Diane Golden-Mendez is Diane and Eddie's child and Seth's twin. Her and her husband, Geoff, have two children together--one being born in Season 3 and the other being born in Season 6.

Tony Golden

Anthony Miguel Golden is Diane and Eddie's first child. His drug abuse and treatment of his family led to his departure from the show following Season 2. He would return a few seasons later, being a lot more respectful and making amends with his family, earning him a spot back on the show. He gets married in Season 7.

Notable Events in Each Season

Season 1

Part of the second half of the season dealt with the controversies Joey Golden was facing, leading to some heated moments between him and Seth. Joey felt like Seth didn't deserve all the high praise and was jealous of his brother's achievements. As he was entitled to "have the glory" and expected Seth to give him a "more luxurious life", this led to a very explosive finale between the two brothers.

Season 2

Joey was demoted due to the scandals he faced before and even during the airing of the first season. Joey would get even more volatile with Seth as a result of feeling unfairly judged by the scandals, which he would finally confirm as more than just rumours. Midway through the season, Joey's jealousy towards Seth led to a drunk Joey initiating a very violent physical fight. The result was Seth filing for a restraining order and Joey being sacked from the show.

Season 4

This season focused around the drama Aunt Val and Uncle Terry were starting. The two had the fame go to their heads and tried to stir up drama for "TV time". This led to damaging rumours that even led the police to investigate family members. This led to a large scale fight with the Azevedo family (Diane's family) in the finale. In the reunion, Aunt Val and Uncle Terry were remorseless, leading the Golden siblings, as well as Diane and Eddie, to cut them out of their lives. This led to a large change in the recurring cast with the other aunts and uncles, sans Uncle Toby, to go from "recurring" to "guest" as Seth wanted to avoid another incident like this.

Season 5

Seth had dropped the restraining order against Joey to try and make amends and put everything behind him. While Joey was a bit more mature at the beginning of the conversation, he felt "betrayed" by Seth "getting all this screentime" while he, Joey, was "not getting the fame he deserved". This led Seth to tell Joey off for being fame-hungry and not caring about the family one bit. He told Joey to let it go and stop putting fame before the people who love him. After the conversation, Seth felt like the two of them shouldn't talk anymore if they are going to have the same conversation time and time again. Joey would not show up for the rest of the season.

Season 6

Diane and Eddie prepare for their retirement while Lydia and Seth welcome their first child. Everybody is impressed with the new and improved Tony, allowing him to get back in everybody's good graces. Aimee Rios and Marie Golden get married in the season finale.
