Lindana, Duchess of Sinworth (Lindana May; née Hodge; born 25 May 1995) is a Buronian peeress. She is the daughter of The Lord Hodge and his first wife Marie, and the wife of Evan, Duke of Sinworth.

Biography

The Duchess of Sinworth was born as The Honorable Lindana May Hodge on 25 May 1995 at her family home Hodge Estate in Hodge, Stansteda, Buronia. Her father is Peter, The Lord Hodge, of the noble Hodge family. Her mother, Marie, The Lady Hodge (née Daugthery) was a baker and business owner who came from a middle-class family. Lady Hodge was the granddaughter of Socrates Onassis, the father of Aristotle Onassis and father-in-law of former American first lady Jacqueline Onassis. She grew up on the Hodge Estate and took an early liking to archery, horseback riding and association football. The Duchess attended a private all-girls Catholic school in nearby Assex county.

Lindana would later attend the University of Zurich and returned to Stansteda in 2015. The Duchess was known for her reluctance in choosing a suitor for a courtship and it reportedly made The Lord Hodge upset. She previously had a short courtship with her stepbrother Lawrence Davis, who she met before his mother married her father. The Duchess's stepmother is Lady Darby Davis (née Lyne). In an announcement in September 2022, Lindana would be engaged to Evan, Duke of Sinworth and married three days later. The marriage came as a surprise as The Duke was known for his promiscuity.

Ancestry

The Duchess of Sinworth was born into nobility and is of Greek, English, German and French descent. She is a descendant of the Onassis family from Greece and the House of Windsor. The Duchess's mother, Marie Daughtery (1967–2010), was the daughter of Irish-born Luke Daughtery (1935–2011) and English-born Maribelle Bogart (née Onassis; 1938–2019). Maribelle was the out of wedlock daughter of Prince John of the United Kingdom (1906–1945), the son of King George V and Queen Mary and great-granduncle of Charles III; and Eva Ruth Onassis (1919–2017), the daughter of Socrates Onassis and Penelope Fouché and brother of Aristotle Onassis (who later married widowed American first lady Jacqueline Kennedy). The Duchess's mother was raised by Luke and Maribelle in Ireland and then in Buronia. The Duchess's maternal grandmother, Maribelle, was raised by Eva in England and was shunned by the Onassis and Windsor families for being born out of wedlock, which was seen as immoral at that time. Eva later married Matthew Bogart and was Maribelle's legal father.
