Kings of Vethringen

Arising from the ancient Vetters, a tribal confederation in the Dolchic migrations, Emmerich I declared himself the first King of Vethringen, ruling lands which stretch from the Drei Flüsse region to modern-day northern Habstria. The early rulers of Vethringen are referred to as the Emmerichingi. They ruled as Kings until Hadubert the Kneeler swore fealty to the ($STATE) and the Kingdom became a later Archduchy.

Partition of Vethringen

With the death of Hans-Wilhelm II, the succession of Vethringen fell into dispute. The Nachfolgists supported Wilhelm, the legitimised bastard son of Hans-Wilhelm II as the rightful heir, while the Legitimists selected the grandson of Reinhard VII, ($NAME). This dispute resulted in the Vethringen Succession War, leading to the Archducal title remaining with Greater Vethringen, while a new state was created for Wilhelm's Nachfolgist supporters, the Duchy of Lesser Vethringen.

Greater Vethringen

Lesser Vethringen

The Dukes of Lesser Vethringen are numbered here by the traditional numbering. Nachfolgists tend to number them according to the Richtiges-Bestellsystem, which assumes that the Duchy of Lesser Vethringen is the true successor to the Archduchy of Vethringen, and thus numbers the rulers accordingly.
