Madhava Ramesh Thakur (born 15 February 1950) is a Rajyani politician serving as the 13th and current Premier of Rajyaghar since 2010. He was the Member of the Sanyukti Vidhan Sabha for the 24th Commune from 1985 to 2000 before becoming the Member of Parliament for Sanyukt's 3rd District. Thakur is a member and current leader of the Rajyani Rashtriya Party (RRP) and is the longest serving premier in Rajyani history. He was born into the Thakur family: his father, Ramesh Thakur, was his predecessor as the MP for Sanyukt's 3rd District from 1961 to 1985.

Born in Jalarabad to an upper-middle-class family, Thakur was educated at the Chakarvarti Academy until attending the Royal Sanyukt University where he graduated with a degree in law. During his time at RSU, Thakur would join the Young Rāṣṭravādī, the youth wing of the RRP, where he would meet his future political right hand, Raksha Shangavi. In his final year, Thakur served as President of the RSU RRP Society and the national Young Rāṣṭravādī. After leaving university, Thakur would join the prestigious law firm Harish-Kapil, where he would work for the next fourteen years, earning himself a considerable fortune. In the 1985 state elections in Sanyukt, Thakur would contest the 24th Commune seat for the Vidhan Sabha, challenging incumbent Rahul Gayakvad who had held the seat for the last two decades. As the son of an incumbent Member of Parliament, Thakur was selected to be the RRP candidate for the SCP stronghold seat. Surprising many, Thakur managed to flip the seat to the RRP and would go on to win re-election to the Vidhan Sabha in the '90 and '95 elections with increased majorities. Just before the 2000 General Election, Thakur's father, Ramesh Thakur, announced his intention to retire from politics. Madhava easily secured selection to be the RRP's candidate for his father's seat, an RRP safe seat, and won the seat at the 2000 election.
