Second Lieutenant Mary Pembroke CM, KC is a Vionna-Frankenlischian military officer from Rachdale in the Earldom of Brumley who has served in the Imperial Army since 2018. Born in 2003, Pembroke is the youngest holder of the prestigious King's Cross. Pembroke began her military career in the King's Own Middle Frankenlisch Rangers, the regiment of her liege lord, but transferred to the City of Briceport Yeomanry while still an apprentice officer. As a Cornet of that regiment, Pembroke fought at the Battle of Entrylli with distinction. After returning to Frankenlisch, Pembroke was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Briceport Light Dragoons, awarded the King's Cross, and was invested as a Companion of the Order of the Mace.

Early Life and Family

Mary Pembroke was born on the 25th of January 2003 to Randolf Pembroke and his wife Bella. The family lived in Rachdale, a town in the Earldom of Brumley, where they owned a butcher's shop. At a young age, Randolf Pembroke had been a groom to the Viscount Rachdale but was soon apprenticed to a butcher with the patronage of the Viscount. He met Bella Fitz-Rorick in 1990 at a Guildhall dinner and the couple were married in July 1992. The lease of a disused butcher's shop was granted to the family by the Viscount Rachdale as a wedding present. Mary Pembroke was the second of six children: an older brother (Matthew, born 1998), two younger sisters (Bella, born 2005, and Rachel, born 2008), and two younger brothers (Robert and Randolf, twins born 2007).

Military Career

After leaving school early at 15, Pembroke joined the Imperial Army under the sponsorship of the Viscount Rachdale. She entered the Frankenlisch Reserve Officer School as a junior cadet in January 2018 where she would spend the next year finishing her education before moving to ISC Donaldia in February 2019. After half a year at Donaldia she took the opportunity to be apprenticed to the King's Own Middle Frankenlisch Rangers, the regiment of her liege lord. Joining the Rangers in October 2019, Pembroke soon showed her ability as a horseman and was soon offered the chance to transfer to a regiment of cavalry. As a common-born officer, choices amongst the cavalry were slim and she decided to take the opportunity to finish her apprenticeship as a Cornet in the City of Briceport Yeomanry. The transfer was made on 25th January 2020 and she agreed to follow the regiment when, soon after, it was sent to Deadora as part of the First Division.
