Mavzida Khidiatullina is an Crimean politician and lawyer who has served as the 10th and current President of Crimea since 2014. she is a member of the Socialist party. Khidiatullina was Minister of Communications from 2001 to 2003, and subsequently served as Speaker of the Qurultay from 2003 to 2006 and 2009 to 2013. On 10 June 2014, she was elected President of Crimea, becoming the first female president of crimea.
Khidiatullina argues for a Crimea that would embrace all people and give the Slavs of Kryve full Crimean citizenship. She is also a strong supporter of minority rights, particularly for Russian Crimeans. She supports the unification of Crimea and Kryve as the solution to the Kryvian–Crimean conflict. Khidiatullina is fluent in Arabic, Turkish and Russian.
