Military slang

Military slang (庸詞, xeng-le) is a group of replacement terms for Shinasthana words that are often thought to have been developed by soldiers, though few such etymologies are truly certain. There are two kinds of military slang terms that are usually recognized:

• Replacement of an uncommon word with a more common word, which is often reflected in writing.
• Replacement of a single-syllable word with a two-syllable word, but which is not reflected in writing.

• Started from a core group of replacements that are actually traceable to the contemporary army, and any other replacement term found to reflect like principle are also grouped under that name.
• Any number of terms associated with lowlifes, since the most notable occupation associated with lowlifes is the army. The word for "military" does indeed translate more precisely as "standing army", which also means "servile".
