The Most Holy Kingdom of Mondejar (Fueru: Santísima Reinu de Mondexar) is a sovereign state in Midgard, resting in Aldinea and bordering Sazarin and Ferhard in the west, Eyapan in the east, West Engatia, Ramano, Daeva, Elihi and Caria in the north.
One of the many states that rose after the collapse of the First Aquiline League, Mondejar would be a minor player in the region until its consolidation of power in the 14th to 16th century, expanding its colonial empire and eventually becoming the premier rival to Nabolon, which neatly divided the Second Aquiline League between each other's spheres of influences. It gained credence with Pontifical Mandate in 1756 which revived the pontifical status of Querina in the Sacralist ecumene. With nationalist (and irredentist) sentiments rising from the end of the XX war, the Mondarian King Benedictu I enacted a policy of expansion in the XX peninsula, sparking the Benedictine War, and the subsequent Benedictine Era. Constitutional government was instituted uniformly across the nation, and a boom in culture, the arts and advancements would proceed. The political crisis precipitated by the near-militarist and hard-conservative rule of Chief Magister Celedoniu Almariu would define the late 19th century. Subsequent liberal governments, which struggled favor with the Monarchy and Eclessia, did not defuse this. Widespread unrest and rising proletarian sentiments would later explode into a massive civil uprising which would be brutally suppressed by a coup d'etat of the radical traditionalist Septarians, abolishing parliamentary institutions and imposing absolutist rule.
Mondejar has been a controversial character in the region since. Ruled by a magisterial League of the Seven Principles (Liga del Siete Principios), also known as the Septarians, the government has continuously denied social and political rights, enforcing draconian religious law as a fundamental of the constitution. The legislative branch is wholly nonexistent, any sort of deliberating power rests on the quasi-judicial Magisterium and the ecclessiastical Collegium of the national Pontificate. The monarchy, chief magister and archpontiff holds power with all three in an informal triumvirate, a situation glorified and mythologized in state media. However, public welfare and education are continuously supported by the state, and the Kingdom boasts among the highest levels of child literacy in Aldinea, next to Sjealand.
Despite not formally within the monarchist bloc, Mondejar remains indispensable to the wider Monarchist cause. The kingdom is among the ardent anti-republicans in the world, declaring it a "heresy against the Gods". It is currently in a heated rivalry with the Muhtarim Republic of Sazarin, who are also opposed on religious grounds.

The institutions of the Mondarian republic were tenuous at best.
In 1937, civil unrest following the Liberal parliament's outright refusal of continuing welfare policies, a massive popular movement of combined Socialist, Republican and Liberationist factions. While managing to occupy Querina for three days, loyalist military regiments and paramilitaries aligned to the reactionary integralist Septarians stormed the city and declared a state of emergency.

Mondejar is formally a constitutional monarchy whose sovereignty and legitimacy formally derive from the Crown Celestial, currently held by King Xustinianu VII. Formal governance is handled by the equal offices of the Inquisitorial Office and the National Magistrate. This configuration renders the government as bound under a dual power of military and theocracy.
