Mountai is one of the 14 states of Kaoro, bordering Verde, Manegua, the Northern State, Gambiem and Murzi. The state is home to about 250 thousand people, with the largest city being Skytown.
The Mountaini government collapsed in 2010 from a political crisis brewing a failure to vote a majority during the 2010 Mountaini elections, and from several snap elections failing afterwards. The Congress of Kaoro overwhelming voted in 2018 to force a provisional government to end the crisis.
