Moutimoucourou is the capital city of the Republic of Garambura. With an urban population of 168,994 as of 2019, it is also Garambura's seventh-largest city by population, and hosts Garambura's legislatural buildings as well as its judicial complexes. A planned-city purpose-built for the capital of the country, it lies at the mouth of the Muti river and around 20 miles east of the Garamburan border with Masari. The city itself blends many different building styles, but it defined mostly by modernist architecture.
The city was planned and designed by Maracan architect Enriquilho Pimentel [two more architects], designated as the capital in 1970 and inaugurated in 1972, with the legislature and judiciary relocating from Mambiza. It was the second purpose-built planned city in Garambura after New Mina, and influences from the former can be seen in Moutimoucourou, including the Capital Quarter that emulates the Mukoma Capital Quarter found in New Mina.
