The National Aeronautics and Space Authority (NASA) is an independent agency of the Ibravian federal government, responsible for organizing civilian space programs, aeronautics and space research.
NASA was established by the 1957 NASA Act, succeeding the National Aeronautics Advisory Council (NAAC). Its goal was to provide space research and development with a distinctly civilian-oriented effort. Since its establishment, most Ibravian space exploration efforts have been led by NASA, including the ??? landing missions, the Skylab space station, and later the Space Shuttle. NASA is supporting the International Space Station and is overseeing the development of the ??? spacecraft among other projects.
