The National Assembly of the Republic was a provisional legislative body formed following the Prodavan revolution known as Black February. Initially formed to legitimise the rule of Aisha Bardour and her National Republic Party, it came to form the framework of the Prodavan Republican Assembly, particularly its upper house: the Prodavan National Council. The National Assembly of the Republic was disbanded on the 1st of July, 1991, in the midst of the Prodavan War, heralding the Second Prodavan Republic.
