National Coalition (Gaullican: Coalition nationale) is the dominant political party in Alexandria. The party is the largest in Alexandria. As of 2019 the party constitutes a two thirds majority in the National Forum. National Coalition members have constituted a majority in the forum since 1993.
The party was formed in 1982 by Égide Lajoie, the grandson of Émile Lajoie, after a split in the Conservative Coalition between the Moderate members who joined the Alexandrian Democrats and the Conservative wing who formed the new party.
The party won the 1991 Presidential Election by a 11 Point margin over their nearest rivals and won a super-majority in the National Forum two years later at the Mid-terms. The Party was described by foreign observers as Authoritarian and Illiberal and has repeatedly faced criticism for claims of Election Fraud.
