Neopolis Palaikia (Willinkian: Νεόπολη Παλαικιάς), ordinarily rendered as Neopolis is a large city located on the coast of the Fyre Sea in northern Willink. Founded in 1125 in the then-colonial region of Palaikia, Neopolis quickly was established as the primary port on the northern Willinkian coast, serving as a springboard and trading station for burgeoning relations with merchants from what constitute modern day Praetonia and Clandonia. The Neopolis megalopolis, home to some 38.75 million people in the city proper and 140 million in the extended metropolitan area holds the distinction of being the largest majority minority city in Havenic Willink, some 65% of its population constituting citizens of the various anglo polities, e.g., Praetonia, Questers, Hamptonshire, Cravan, Clandonia, et al.
Sprawling adjacent to a large natural harbor on the Fyre Sea, and located in an important shipping lane spanning the Omz and Fyre Seas, Neopolis is one of the largest and most important ports in eastern Haven. A significant port of entry and way station, Neopolis is a major center of finance, shipping, manufacturing, and diplomacy; its ports are the second busiest in Havenic Willink by annual cargo tonnage after Ismaros, and its six major airports experience the highest annual traffic volume in all of Thalassia. Neopolis is an important city in the early modern history of Willink, possessing key significance in relations between Willink and the Havenic anglosphere, as well as proving an important site of numerous politically significant events in the history of the polity.
