Northern Lights Festival, somteimes known as Aurora Fest, is an annual Normarkianian three-day music festival held in Kongenes Park in Kiinavuopio, Lønnsjø. It was created in 1993 by Psychodelia Records as a way to promote the recently established indie and alternative rock scene that emerged in Kiinavuopio during the early 1990s, with several of the most influential bands being signed under Psychodelia Records. Despite it's original purpose of mostly promoting alternive rock, alternative metal and some punk bands, the festival has evolved to todat include a wide arrange of genres including alternative rock, heavy metal, punk rock, hip hop, indie music and electronic dance music. The festival is also famous for promoting different visual acts, and the festival has included several art constellations in a different part of the park since 2006. The festival hosts an estimated 200,000 people each August and sells out annually. The Northern Lights Festival is one of the largest music festivals in the world, especially for underground music or upcoming artists in more alternative genres.
