Air Marshal Ollie Rees, CG, CSC, is a senior officer of the Royal Gallambrian Air Force, serving as Air Officer Commanding, Air Command since 6 February 2017.

Early Life

Rees grew up in the Highlands of Cambra. He studied a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering at the Gallambrian Armed Forces Academy, graduating and commissioning into the Royal Gallambrian Air Force in 1991.

Service Career

Rees was accepted into the Gallambrian Armed Forces Academy as an Officer Cadet in 1987. He intended to pursue a career in the Air Force as an Engineering Officer, but after joining the Academy's glider club he gained a passion for flying and decided to embark on a career in aviation.

After completing is degree he completed pilot training, graduating in 1989. He specialised as a fighter pilot, training on the Panther FG.3. He completed a three-year fighter tour with No. 80 Squadron, before he was posted on exchange with the Iverican Air Force with the 1st Air Brigade from 1993. He returned to No. 80 Squadron, and promoted to Flight Lieutenant, in 1995.

Rees was posted to the Fighter Programs Division of the Capability and Sustainment Group for eighteen months from January 1998. He was then selected to attend the Gallambrian Command and Staff College where he graduated with a Master of Arts in Air Power & Strategic Studies from the affiliated Gallambrian National University in 2001. Following the course, he was appointed as Commander, Air Policing Component as part of the Gallambrian Armed Forces contributions to truce supervision in The Bashan. Rees received a King's Commendation for Valuable Service for his performance in the Bashan and, following his return to Gallambria, he was promoted to Squadron Leader, andassumed command of No. 1 Squadron at RGAF Learmonth from February 2004.

Towards the end of his three years of squadron command, he was promoted to Group Captain and appointed as Director of the Air Force's £7.3 billion acquisition and transition program for the Super Panther GR.6 and the Jaguar ECR.1. Rees was posted to RGAF Portreath in command of No. 54 Wing in August 2009. He was appointed a in the 2010 King's Birthday Honours, the award recognising his "exceptional capability, capacity and devotion" to "effective Air Combat capability for the Air Force", in both his command appointments and during the introduction of the Super Panther and Jaguar. Rees next completed the Higher Command and Staff Course at the Gallambrian Command and Staff College in early 2011, where he was then promoted to Air Commodore and returned to the Capability and Sustainment Group as Director General Aerospace Development.

In September 2015 he was promoted to Air-Vice Marshal and appointed as Air Officer Commanding, Middle East Command, with responsibility for the administration of RGAF forces as part of the Gallambrian Forces in the Bashan. Following his return to Gallambria in 2017, he was promoted to Air Marshal and appointed Air Officer Commanding, Air Command.
