Opinion polling for the 1905 Sallian parliamentary election took place from 1 July 1900 to 27 June 1905.

Poll results

Maiden poll

The first poll was taken on 1 July 1900. The results were released the next day:

  • Conservative Party - 406
  • Liberal Party - 187
  • Republican Party - 44
  • Labour Representation Alliance - 3
  • Others - 10

The poll showed gains for the Liberals and Labour and the minor parties, and minor losses for the Conservatives and the Republicans.

1 August poll

The monthly poll was taken on 1 August 1900:

  • Conservative Party - 406
  • Liberal Party - 199
  • Republican Party - 36
  • Labour Representation Alliance - 5
  • Others - 3

The poll showed dramatically reduced support for the Republican Party after their July votes against the Bill of Rights (1900) in Parliament and large gains for the Liberal Party.

1 September poll

The monthly poll was taken on 1 September 1900:

  • Conservative Party - 403
  • Liberal Party - 202
  • Republican Party - 40
  • Labour Representation Alliance - 5
  • Others - 0

The poll showed dramatic losses for independents and minor parties and the steady drop of the Conservative Party.

1 October poll

The monthly poll was taken on 1 October 1900:

  • Conservative Party - 401
  • Liberal Party - 203
  • Republican Party - 37
  • Labour Representation Alliance - 7
  • Others - 2

The Liberal Party continued to rise, while the Conservative Party continued to fall.

1 November poll

The monthly poll was taken on 1 November 1900:

  • Conservative Party - 398
  • Liberal Party - 204
  • Republican Party - 32
  • Labour Representation Alliance - 10
  • Others - 6

1 December poll

The monthly poll was taken on 1 December 1900:

  • Conservative Party - 390
  • Liberal Party - 209
  • Republican Party - 37
  • Labour Representation Alliance - 11
  • Others - 3

The New Year poll

The monthly poll was taken on 1 January 1901:

  • Conservative Party - 388
  • Liberal Party - 209
