The Serene Republic of Orzu or simply Orzu, is a theocracy in Catai, bordering Ozena, Tagamban, Transcandar and Goulong. In the crossroads between Yen and Turkic Catai, Orzu has developed a unique syncretic culture, combining Yen and Turkic cuisine, language, and even political traditions.

Orzu officially calls itself an Alydian democracy, and is one of the most devout Alydian nations in Aeia. The nation is led by the Orkuzi Orthodox Church, a split from the main branch of the Orthodox Alydian Church, differing with strong belief in liberation theology, absolute idealism and a rejection of the 8 Manifestations. The highest body in the state is the Holy Synod of Orkuz, 6 co-equal bishops, as well as the yearly National Synod where representatives are elected from every region of Orzu to deliberate church and state policy. Orkuzi regions have large amounts of autonomy under the system, as well as legal flexibility to create their own legal codes, as long as it doesn't contradict the official "spirit" of the Church's dogma. Orzu is commonly seen as a "patchwork" of numerous polities given security and legitimacy by the Orkuzi Orthodox Church. These polities elect bishops at higher levels through a system of Soviet democracy. Orzu is also effectively a corporatist state which each social class and occupation occupying it's own guild, which elects leaders through Soviet democracy in order to discuss with other guilds, mediating conflicting interests and achieving national harmony. Orkuzi politicians have called it a form of "democracy with Orkuzi characteristics", giving power to the people while retaining national harmony.

The territories of modern day Orzu represent the "hinterlands" of Yen Catai, and it has always been populated by barbarian tribes with significant trade ties and cultural influence from the Yens. The "Orkuzi" Confederation" was believed to have been founded around 100 BCE, and engaged in raids and eventually conquests of Yen territory. The lands of Orzu were later subjugated into a tributary relationship with the Yen by 300 CE. The lands of Orzu remained in constant flux between Yen and barbarian for another millennia.
