The United States of Ouraicon, sometimes referred to as Ouraicon or simply, The U.S.O is an independent nation state located in southeast Corentia. Ouraicon is comprised of 19 states, a federal district, and four semi-autonomous states. Currently Ouraicon is considered a regional power with asperations to become one of the great powers of Sunalaya.
The U.S.O in its modern form was created from the ruins of the Rhodeve colony of Rhovaska in 1869. The Rhovaskan Civil War was a culmination of almost 50 years of animosity between the ethnically German west and Rhodeve/French east. The end of the war resulted in the creation of both Ouraion and the Federated States of Weypel. Over the late 19th and 20th centuries, through both purchase and conquest took land from the neighboring Republic of Ozalares until finally in the 1970s the country became fully under the Ouraiconian banner.
The former Republic of Rhovaska gained independence from Rhodevus on August 5th, 1818 upon the conclusion of The War of Wills. The War ended in the Battle of The Seven Fronts, named for each of the seven theatres that crippled the Rhodeve ability to fight back. With help from the Englean Kaiserreich and the (tbd Spanish nation) colony of Ozalares rapidly defeated Rhodeve outposts, forts, armies, and fleets across southwest Corentia. This would be the last time Rhovaska, Ouraicon, or Weypel would work with the Kaiserreich until World War II.
Of Ouraicons 19 states the most populated by far is Hanover on the southwest coastline at 43 million which accounts for a quarter of Ouraicons total population. Of the four semi-autonomous states the most populated is the state of Ozalares which accounts for another quarter of the population. Currently, there is a referendum on whether Ozalares will become a free nation or officially join Ouraicon as an official state. The seat of power lies in the Capital District, which is comprised of the city of Liberty and the surrounding counties.
