The P-840 Rekviyem (GRAU Designation: 3M64) is a ramjet supersonic cruise missile that can be launched from submarines, ships, aircraft or land.

Design

The missile is a modular system with five different variants: two anti-shipping types, two for land attack, and one with an anti-submarine role. The missile is designed to share common parts between the surface and submarine-launched variants. But each missile consists of different components, for example, the booster. The missile can be launched from a surface ship using a Vertical Launched System (VLS). It has a booster with thrust vectoring capability. The missile launched from a submarine has no need for such an addition, but has a conventional booster instead. The air launched version is held in a container. The container is dropped, and the missile launches, detaching from the container.

Launch platforms

The missiles have been deployed on the Stasnovan Steregushchy, Buyan, and Gepard-class corvettes, as well as the Zmeya-class destroyers and Yuznaya-class cruisers. The massive Krausov-class guided missile cruisers, or as they are commonly known, battlecruisers, are also armed with the missiles. The surface-based missiles are utilised on the MSVP VLS system, found on the mentioned ships.

The submarine launched variants are utilised on the Akula-class and new Yarost-class nuclear-powered attack submarines, as well as on the conventionally powered Kilo-class attack submarines.

Operational history

The variants of the P-840 Rekviyem are currently in service with the most modern ships of the Stasnovan Revolutionary Navy. They haven't been used in military operations so far. However, it is assumed that the Carrier Strike Group Beta of the SRN that has been deployed in the bay of Lowren off Zolevskoyan national waters, is equipped with P-840-armed ships.

Variants

  • 3M-64: Anti-shipping variant. Deployed by the Stasnovan Revolutionary Navy, as a submarine launched missile, Its basic length is 8.22 m (27.0 ft), with a 200 kg (440 lb) warhead. Its range is 440–660 km (270–410 mi). It is a Sea-skimmer with supersonic terminal speed and a flight altitude of 4.6 metres (15 ft) at its final stage; its speed is then Mach 3.
  • 3M-64T: Anti-shipping variant. The anti-shipping variant is deployed by the Stasnovan Revolutionary Navy, in a surface ship with a VLS launched system and a thrust vectoring booster; its Basic length is 8.9 m (29 ft), its warhead weighs 300 kg and other performances are the same as the 3M-64. Air launched variant is 3M-64AE2.
  • 92RTE: Anti-submarine variant. It consists of two stages, one solid booster with four grid fins and one anti-submarine light torpedo. Its basic length is 7.65 m (25.1 ft), it has a range of 50 km (31 mi). It can reach supersonic speed. The torpedo has a warhead weight of 76 kg (168 lb). It follows a ballistic path on the surface, with a speed of Mach 2.5. Air launched variant is 92RTE-AE.
  • 3M-24: Submarine-based land attack weapon has a basic length of 8.22 m (20 ft), with a 450 kg (990 lb) warhead. Its range is 1,500–2,500 km (930–1,550 mi). Its subsonic terminal speed is Mach 0.8. Air launched variant is 3M-24AE.
  • 3M-24T: Surface-based land attack weapon has a basic length of 8.9 m (20 ft), with a 450 kg (990 lb) warhead. Other performances are the same as the 3M-24
