Parker Kyriakos Lawson SM (born 14 November 1982) is a Satavian politician and former professional rugby union footballer who has served as the Deputy Prime Minister of Satavia since 17 July 2022. Lawson was born and raised in Victoriaburg, Western Freestate to a Piraean mother and Satavian father. Lawson played rugby for the University of Port Hope Eels, before signing a professional contract with Port Hope RFC in 2004. He made 26 appearances for their NRC side, before joining their Super League side for the inaugural 2006 season. Lawson made 198 appearances for the Blues, scoring 2,341 points which remains a Super League record. Lawson also made 59 appearances for the Western Freestate, scoring 527 points. Additionally, Lawson made 125 appearances for Satavia and is Satavia's leading scorer, scoring 1,206 points in that time. Lawson retired from international rugby in 2018 and is widely regarded as the greatest fly-half of his generation.
After his retirement from rugby, Lawson was nominated third on the United Party Senate list in the Western Freestate and was duly elected in the 2020 Satavian federal election. Following Rian Pienaar's suprise defeat in the 2022 Satavian federal election, Lawson - who had been Deputy Leader - was unexpectedly elected leader of the United Party, defeating favourite and long-time member Oliver Woodward. Lawson joined a coalition government with Arthur Warwick of the Conservative & Country Party later that day, and was appointed Deputy Prime Minsiter.
