Palestine (Arabic: فلسطين‎ Filasṭin), officially the Palestinian Arab Republic (Arabic: الجمهورية العربية الفلسطينية‎ al-Jumhūrīyah al-ʻArabīyah al-Filasṭīniyyah), is a country in the Middle East. Palestine is bordered by Israel to the North west, and south, Egypt by the south west, and by Jordan and Israel to the east. The Palestinian enclave of Gaza is bordered by the Mediterranian Sea to the west, by Egypt to the south and by Israel to the north. Palestine's economic center is Ramallah, while its seat of government and proclaimed capital is East Jerusalem, although international recognition of the state's sovereignty over Jerusalem is limited.
