Parliamentary Secretary (Delamaria)

A Parliamentary Secretary was a position held by a member of the Parliament of Delamaria during the Presidential Era. Before the Cafferty reforms, government departments were lead by members of parliament as ministers and secretaries, however following the reforms ministers were direct presidential appointments, with no requirement or expectation that they were sitting members of parliament. Therefore in order to placate parliament, members were appointed parliamentary secretaries, representing their department in parliament, with varying degrees of influence and control over departmental operations and policy.

Following the reestablishment of the office of Prime Minister, the parliamentary secretary system was abolished, and reverted to the previous system.
