The Pepillional (Albinian: el-Pepilyönül) is a traditional folk dance from Albinia, originating among the Mönteli of northern Albinia. A circle dance, it is characterised by a slower, steady rhythm which escalates in speed as the dance progresses, as well as an emphasis on coupled centre dancers. Initially seen as "peasant culture" and scorned by urban elites, the dance's surviving appeal has led to its recognition as one of the most famous and well recognised elements of Albinian folk culture.
