The President of the Aramaean Republic (Aramaic: ܪܝܫ ܩܘܛܢܝܘܬܐ ܐܪܡܝܐ, Rish Qūthnāyūtā Aramāyā, or: ܪܝܫ ܐܘܡܬܐ, Rish Umtha; literally, "Head of the Nation") is the head of state of Aram. The position is largely a ceremonial figurehead role, with executive power vested in the Government and the Prime Minister. The current president is Patrus Sheyada, who took office on 14 June 2016. Presidents are elected by the Motwa (parliament) for a five-year term that can be renewed once.
