Princess Victoria, Duchess of Cambridge (Victoria Thomas Lauren Charles Cattrall; born 30 December 1992), known previously as Lady Victoria Cattrall, is an English foreign correspondent and journalist for the BBC, an activist, and a member of the British royal family.

Born as the illegitimate daughter of King Thomas and English-Canadian actress, Kim Cattrall, Victoria originally lived out a majority of her early childhood years in the United States, before subsequently relocating to the United Kingdom at the age of ten. Afterwards, Victoria's subsequent teenage years were marked with some general setbacks at her first secondary school, though this did little to impede her academic studies. An Oxford graduate, Victoria would soon begin to make a name for herself as a young broadcaster and journalist for the BBC, during which time she was then launched into further prominence as the host of her own modestly acclaimed travel show, Rediscovering India with Victoria Cattrall. In addition to that, Victoria is also the New York Times best-selling author of Naked Consequences (2015), Donald Trump: America's Pandora Box (2017), and lastly, a more recent publication of hers, The Rogue Prince (2019), which subsequently won her a Pulitzer Prize award the same year.

Having personally endured a considerable amount of media scrutiny throughout her childhood years as a result of her rather illegitimate birth status, Victoria herself has since been personally outspoken against what she referred to as a "vapidly sensationalist media culture", along with being generally outspoken as well on other social media issues, which includes both cyberbullying and media privacy. Furthermore, in addition to being an outspoken opponent of anti-Semitism in general alongside her half-sister, Queen Alexandra, Victoria herself has also become known for her numerous anti-war statements, which primarily revolves around her own personal criticism of the ongoing War on Terror conflict, which has often garnered the princess praise, as well as criticism from the general public.

Since May 2022, Victoria has been engaged to German footballer, Joshua Kimmich, whom currently plays for her father's football club, Buckingham. Prior to their engagement, the couple has been in a relationship since 2019, during which they welcomed a son and later a daughter in May 2019 and October 2020 respectively.

Early Life

Victoria was born on December 30th 1992 as the secondborn but illegitimate child of William, Prince of Wales and English-Canadian actress, Kim Cattrall. Born Victoria Thomas Lauren Charles Cattrall, she was first named after her own mother, whose full name was Kim Victoria Cattrall, followed by the likes of her own father, Thomas, Prince of Wales and afterwards her own paternal grandparents, namely King Charles III and Queen Lauren themselves, while also sharing her mother's distinct Cattrall family name.

On the surface, despite being the child of the heir to the British throne, Victoria herself was immediately excluded from any potential succession rights, as neither the Prince of Wales nor Cattrall herself were ever married to one another at the time of Victoria's birth. Irrespective of this, despite her rather illegitimate status, Victoria's upbringing proved to be rather stable overall, as a result of a confidential agreement reached between Victoria's parents with the British royal family and government, whereby Victoria and her mother would be provided with a considerable amount of financial aid in order to alleviate any potential woes, along with the granting of the courtesy title of Lady to both the younger and older Cattrall themselves. At the same time, by the Prince of Wales's own courtesy and approval, both Cattralls were allowed to take up residence at the royal residence of Wales House itself, which had then served as the princess's own birthplace, along with being a secondary residence for members of the British royal family in the United States. Furthermore, beginning from the age of three, despite finding herself then distantly separated from her father due to the latter's ascension to the throne, both Victoria and Cattrall continued to remain in contact, either directly or indirectly with Victoria's own biological father, whom despite his newfound duties, was nevertheless able to travel abroad to the United States on various occasions, thereby allowing a young Victoria to establish a rather respectful and warm relationship with her own biological father. On the other hand, following the marriage between Victoria's mother to an American audio equipment designer, Mark Levinson in 1998, a then six year old Victoria was said to had a rather "dismissive and indifferent" approach towards her stepfather in particular, with the older Cattrall herself later noting on how a young Victoria would "burst into leaps of joy in the presence of her biological father, while otherwise receding into a state of moodiness in the presence of her stepfather instead".

In addition to that, Victoria's lifelong interest in the game of tennis would also begin to develop over time, as a result of her having been exposed to the sport itself by her father during the latter's many visits to their New York home. Soon enough, it was not long before Victoria's own interest in the sport would quickly catch her father's eye, leading the latter to subsequently have the young princess enrolled at a tennis academy for children, thereby allowing her to hone her skills further in the sport, particularly during the weekends, when she would often have the most amount of time available to spend at the academy. Even then, despite afterwards relocating to the United Kingdom, Victoria's passion for the sport remained generally unfazed by this new transition, although her interests in other sports as well would also begin to develop, with other sports such as football and archery gradually becoming one of Victoria's many preferred sports during her occasional free times.

Afterwards, beginning from the age of seven, under the direct sponsorship of her own biological father abroad, Victoria was enrolled in her first educational institution, namely the Westmere Elementary School, located in Albany, New York, and not far from their own Wales House residence nearby. However, unbeknownst to the young Victoria, in a joint concerted effort involving both her mother and the school's administrators, Victoria, in addition to being officially enrolled in the school under her own full name, would also have her then stepfather, Mark Levinson be documented as her official father instead, in a ruse meant to allow the young Victoria to undergo a relatively normal life in public without also attracting unwanted attention arising from her own controversial biological ties to her father, whom was the reigning British monarch at the time. However, while the ruse itself proved to be overall successful in its primary intention, it was otherwise believed that on the other hand, it also contributed significantly to the deterioration in the already strained relationship between Victoria and her stepfather, Mark Levinson, whose mandated appearances at events held by the school in the place of Victoria's own biological father proving to be a major sore spot for herself.

Moving to the United Kingdom

Eventually, around the year 2003, after just three years into learning at her New York primary school, a now ten year old Victoria subsequently found herself relocating eastward to the United Kingdom, following a contentious divorce involving her mother and stepfather, Mark Levinson (whom Victoria personally resented), which was reportedly caused by the former having accepted an offer from Victoria's own biological father, the now King Thomas to begin living in the United Kingdom instead, where the latter himself believed that the young soon-to-be princess would be more accustomed to, an assumption made more plausible by the fact that both Thomas and Victoria have already shared a deeply respectful and loving relationship with one another despite their years' long separation, which was in stark contrast to that between the princess and her own stepfather. Soon enough, the two's initially concealed entry into the United Kingdom would eventually become known to the general British public, when the two were photographed together with the main members of the British royal family in an official Christmas-themed photograph that year marking their apparent official inclusion into the rest of the royal family itself.

Soon afterwards, in adjusting to their new life in the United Kingdom, both Victoria and Cattrall would begin to appear more frequently alongside members of the royal family in public events and alike, while Victoria, along with her younger half-sister, Alexandra, were then enrolled together at the Broughton Primary School in Edinburgh, Scotland, where Victoria, whom despite finding herself somewhat initially isolated from her new classmates for the first few days or so, was nevertheless able to perform "exceedingly well" in her studies, particularly in the subjects of Science and Physical Education. Then, upon completing her last two primary education years at the school, she was afterwards enrolled at the nearby Broughton High School for her subsequent secondary school years. Almost immediately, in contrast to her primary school years, which Victoria personally described as "rather merrily and blissful throughout", her secondary school years however would later be spoken about by the princess in a more negative light, with the princess herself later revealing how she was reportedly subjected to "near-constant verbal bullying" by her classmates, whom according to Victoria herself, would often harass or ridicule the princess due to her infamous status as a royal bastard. As a result, after just a couple of months into her studies there, with reasons primarily including her initially poor academic performance to her almost frequent engagement in physical altercations on school grounds with her tormentors, Victoria herself, along with a number of her tormentors, were ultimately expelled from the school by the school's administrators, although thanks to an intervention by Victoria's father, the real reasons behind Victoria's expulsion from the school were ultimately kept hidden by the school administrators themselves, in an effort to avoid the teenage princess's academic future being jeapordised by virtue of the princess being tied back to her issues at her previous secondary school.

Nevertheless, not long after she was first expelled from Broughton High School, Victoria herself was subsequently enrolled at an entirely new secondary school, namely the all-girls Mary Erskine School. Almost immediately, this transition proved to be an overall success in alleviating Victoria's past setbacks at her previous secondary school, with the teachers at Victoria's new secondary school themselves being quick to positively report on Victoria's academic progress there, with one report in particular mentioning her "commanding and authoritative character", while another progress report specifically praised the princess's "untainted concentration towards her academic studies in general".

Afterwards, upon completing secondary school, Victoria was enrolled next at the wholly prestigious University of Oxford, from where the princess would graduate three years later with a bachelor's degree in political science. At the same time, she became the first member of British royalty to ever graduate from the university, and in addition, the second overall member of British royalty to ever graduate from a university in the United Kingdom after her aunt, the Duchess of Albany.

Career

Broadcaster/Journalist for the BBC

Soon after graduating from Oxford University, Victoria would begin her first steps into a professional career-oriented life when she was subsequently hired first as a junior broadcaster, and later a journalist for the BBC.

In February 2014, with the onset of an armed conflict against the Islamic State in Iraq, Victoria, after initially prevailing concerns surrounding her security abroad, was eventually made a foreign correspondent for the BBC to report on the then recently brewing armed conflict in the war-torn country. Thus, throughout the next five months or so, Victoria would become one of the broadcasting company's leading foreign correspondents covering the conflict, leading to her, along with a number of her fellow foreign correspondents there, being awarded with several honours and awards in recognition of their duties. Later on, during one particular interview, when asked about her past foreign correspondent years, Victoria promptly referred to them as her "years of both excitement and sorrow". Then, the princess herself also stated, "Being a foreign correspondent covering a war makes you a two-faced person, for one face is a face of excitement in learning about the conflict firsthand by being in the thick of it, while the other is a face of sorrow in reporting it back to the whole world yourself as well as taking in some much needed, and often heartbreaking lessons from the war itself". In that same year, on behalf of the BBC, the princess also held interviews with a number of world leaders, including a then-recently inaugurated President Joko Widodo of Indonesia, and the current Spanish King Felipe VI, whom became king that year following the abdication of his father, Juan Carlos I.

Soon after she was born, Victoria was rather initially known as Victoria Cattrall, before being subsequently awarded the title of Lady just a few weeks afterwards. Later on, upon reaching the age of ten, Victoria was eventually given the title of Princess of the United Kingdom by her father, the King and later by her own half-sister, the reigning Queen Alexandra, whom then made her Duchess of Cambridge in 2019.
