The Proconsul of the Jastrun Confederation is the head of state and representative leader of the Jastrun Confederation of Unified Republics.
After independence in 1721, the position of Proconsul was first established and held by Nathaniel Ebenhauer with the desire of uniting the Confederation while also maintaining the individual governance of each state. Ebenhauer and successive Proconsuls were pivotal in delegating on behalf of the growing Jastrun territories to work toward common national efforts.
In modern times, the office holder of Pronconsul remains more a figurehead than in a position of power, as a member of the National Ministry and beholden to the combined nine Republics of the Confederal Council.
Succeeding Sarah Blanche in 2015, the current Proconsul is Campbell H. Nashoba, who is the great-grandson of 28th Proconsul Andrew I. Nashoba.
