The Common Dwarf Bushmaster (Pseudolachesis vexillius) is a medium-sized species of pit viper found across the lowlands of east-central La Ameripacha Libre.
Habitat
Life History
Like other members of the genus Pseudolachesis, P. vexillius lays eggs. Females lay 8-20 eggs, depending on age and body condition. Eggs are deposited in nests of fallen leaves at the start of the rainy season, and the mother remains until eggs hatch.
Description
Maximum recorded adult size is 190cm SVL.
Holotype = Female specimen, 92cm TL, 80cm SVL, collected approximately 4.5km north of Juanare by a hunter in 1862 and formally described by Jardel DeCouvier in 1963.
