The Redhawk Pistol Caliber Carbine, also known by its Redhawk Firearms designation, the Redhawk Firearms PCC-80 is a Pistol caliber carbine developed by Redhawk Firearms of Shenandoah in the late 1970's as an offering to the nation's various law enforcement agencies. It is based on the Redhawk Firearms M-4 Assault Rifle, and is offered in a variety of calibers, including 9×19mm and .45 Weston initially, with .40 Grady coming later.
Design
The PCC-80 utilizes a simplified closed bolt, blowback operations in place of the conventional direct impingement gas operation of the standard M-4 Assault Rifle. The overall aesthetics are identical to the M-4 Assault Rifle. Changes include a large plastic gas deflector protruding from the rear quarter of the ejection port, and a correspondingly shorter dust cover. Original PPC-80 have an M-4 Assaults Rifle style upper receiver, which means they feature a fixed carry handle, no forward assist and standard fixed sights. Later versions would include removeable carry handles, accessory rails and other improvements.
The weapon is equipped with a 10.5 inch length barrel, although some 11.5 inch versions exist and the PPC-80-45S offers a shortened 7.5 inch barrel. The magazine well of the receiver is modified with pinned-in blocks to allow the use of smaller magazines. Blocks can be swapped to allow for different caliber conversions.

First Generation
First generation PPC-80 weapons were based on the M-4 receiver.

- PPC-80-45S - PPC-80 chambered for .45 Weston a Safe/Semi/Full Auto selective fire trigger group and 7.5 inch barrel, hydraulic buffer and simplified front sight post.
Second Generation
Second generation PPC-80, sometimes erroneously called the PPC-96, are based off the upper receiver for the Redhawk Firearms M-3 Carbine, and feature a removeable carry handle along with accessory rails for mounting a variety of devices. All three round burst offers were eliminated with the second generation of the PPC-80.
