By the end of the war the south would be in ruin and thousands of Americans would be dead or gravely wounded. On top of it all the savior Lincoln would be assassinated by the devil Booth, it's here that the romance of the last decades would break; a depression would hit the American people and they wonder what all the violence was for, Thoreau would come with an answer.
Thought by many to be Lincoln's lap dog Vice President the “Union Hermit” would prove everyone wrong after he would ascend to the seat of President to serve out the rest of Lincoln's term, using his populist rhetoric and transcendentalist philosophy he would go on to both revive the Republican Party and start a new enlightenment in the states spreading his ideas far and wide. By the end of Lincoln’s term Thoreau would be hailed by some Republicans as the modern Plato or Da Vinci, Thoreau would go on to win the next two elections after Lincoln's term, continuing to push his ideas and subsequently altering the United states forever.

After a contentious split between the mainstream and Progressive Republicans Roosevelt would win the 1912 election with his new independent political party the “Progressive Party” though distributed by news of growing tensions in Europe he would focus on America for his first year in office but by 1914 the writing was on the wall that war was imminent in Europe. The beginning of the war would give Roosevelt some time to think but after the start of the invasion of Belgium by Germany and reports of the many crimes being committed there Roosevelt felt it was necessary for America to take a stern stance against evil and join the war. With America’s entry into the war Germany would be forced to divert more forces west reliving the Russians of the extreme pressure they were under by the far superior German forces, American industrial and military support would prove key to a number of battles in the west leading to the war ending on August 15th 1917 after Germany and America would host Pope Benedict XV who would start peace talks between all nations involved.
