The Republican Lobby (French: Lobby républicain) is the colloquial name for the Political Group of the Republican Rally (French: Groupe politique du ralliement républicain), the largest and most powerful transpartisan caucus in the National Assembly of Ainin. It advocates for an aggressive defence of republicanism and for the protection of the values of the Aininian Revolution in the fields of foreign policy, domestic affairs and defence.
Founded on May 11, 1906 by Labour deputy Alfonse Beaugrand in response to the rapid changes of the Social Revolution that he saw as a threat to the republican ideals of the Revolution, it grew into the largest parliamentary grouping in Aininian history within six months, and initially fought to preserve the 1798 motto and coat of arms of Ainin, which were replaced in 1907 when a new constitution was promulgated. Over the years, it has fought for republican ideals on multiple fronts, successfully pushing through an embargo of Arnborg. As of 2015, 3 prime ministers, 3 presidents and 59 cabinet ministers have been members of the Republican Lobby.
The 21st century's Republican Lobby is significantly smaller than at its apex in the early 20th century, but it still wields considerable influence over all of Ainin's major mainstream parties. It is currently pushing for a constitutional amendment restoring the legal status of the revolutionary symbols. After the election of 2015, it has once again become a major force in Aininian politics with the election of many rookie deputies with republican sympathies on the SDP and Citizens' Alliance tickets.
