Sauromaces, known as Saurmag is an unknown scribe that lived in the Pre-Timeless Era. Sauromaces was an Akannite Mts’ignobari and was active for a thousand years. Sauromaces is credited for many different writings along with the scribe Syrexia and the Saulican Accounts. One of the few accounts of the Pre-Timeless Era that survived the War of the Timeless. Sauromaces is considered to be the scribe of Maradisoban Belief for his writings on the belief system and the only first hand account of a Maradisoban Holy Beast in action. Sauromaces also created several works that helped form the system of Sauromacine-Tigranid Mathematics.

Sauromaces is hypothesized to not be a single person but rather multiple people, if not a family line. Sauromaces accounts started in the Constructionist Era in 4,000 B.S.O. to the Era of the Codex in 3,000 B.S.O. The person called Sauromaces would have had to lived for over 1,000 years to accomplish this, and as a result it is debated as to who Sauromaces is.
