Sazara is a planet located in the Inner Band of the Talin Galaxy. It orbits the star Sazara Prime. Sazara has a moon, several orbital docking stations, and sits at the crossroads of several major Overspace routes. Sazara is covered by a largely flat salt plain dotted with saltwater lakes, with a few major cities and spaceports containing the majority of the planet's population. The sentient native species of the planet are the Sazaran, but the population of the planet is highly diverse due to Sazara's importance as a trading port. The planet is a member of the Galactic Union.
The interior of the planet is rich in resources used in ecumenopolis construction, ship-building, and fuel. As such, the surface of Sazara is covered in mines and drilling facilities. Off-world corporations hold control over many of these facilities, which the planetary government leases to finance their native species' wealth. Sazara's mining practices and lucrative spaceport cultures attract a notable underworld activity, including illegal casinos, laundering, and smuggling operations.
