Skaolitunian dollar
The Skaolitunian dollar (sign: $; code: SLD) is the currency of Skaolitunia. It is normally abbreviated with the dollar sign $, or S$ to distinguish it from other dollar-denominated currencies. It is divided into 100 cents.
The Skaolitunian dollar was introduced on July 1, 1932 to replace the non-decimalised Skaolitunian pound, which had been used since 1896. For the most part, the Skaolitunian pound was fixed to the British pound. After independence in 1929, Skaolitunia continued to use the pound for a transition period - the pound ceased to be legal tender on 31 December 1936.
The Skaolitunian dollar, as of 2020, is the eighth-most traded currency in the world, with a 5.4% share of global currency trading. As of 31 December 2019, there were 79.4 billion Skaolitunian dollars in circulation.
