The Skirmish at Fort Wilderness was the opening engagement of the Frankenlisch-Cassadia War. A patrol of the 3rd Pavonia Regiment led by Lieutenant David Evans discovered a company of Cassadian soldiers encamped on the Frankenlischian side of the colonial frontier. When the Cassadians panicked and began firing, the skirmish developed. The skirmish lasted until reinforcements from the 1st New Gestoria Regiment arrived, forcing the Cassadians to withdraw.
