The Solar Syndicate was founded by Victorus Forlix in 751 GD during the Pirate Wars of 749-755 GD. The original motive of the Syndicate was to secure Equila from pirates in the surrounding sea. They had made their own fleet of ships to deter the Quang Zi Fleet from arriving on shore. Many members worked with the government to help fight off the pirates and were legal security forces.
Background
Since the fall of Equila in 273GD, many of the Equilos wanted to be free but the collaborators with the Solarian government and propaganda all over the island, many felt hopeless to become free. Many of the ex-soldiers that work under the Equila Republic began doing small crime and survive off of other peoples work. While the soldiers on the island were well respected, even one being elected into the State Council, Aegeus Kixo. However, life was still hard on the island, with poverty rates increasing and state funding decreasing, it was only a matter of time before the state goes into anarchy. However, in 452 GD, the State Council passed a resolution that would increase funding inexchange for 1/3 of all produce that farmers made that would be stored when winter comes. This resolution became a success, and people's lifes began to change for the better. In was only during the Harsh Winter of 746 that the supplies in the warehouse began to run out. It was a devastating to the state, and people began going back into poverty and only in the state capital of Paraskínia were people well off. Things would look up again as in 749, Pirates would be raiding the coastlines of Solarius and were hard to fight off with the bulky Solarian ships.
The King at the time, Praxius V, issued a decree stating that any civilian ship crews that would serve to protect Solarius will keep all the treasure from the pirate ships they had sunk. A man named Victorus Forlix would gather a few friends to sail against the pirate in hopes of acquiring wealth for themselves. Two years later, Forlix would be the wealthiest man in Equila.
History
In 751, a group of Equilos gathered at a bar in Perlos, Equila, where they would talk about big game and their accomplishments against the Kiivar ships that was used by the Quang Zi Fleet. One of these people was a man named Victorus Forlix, who brought up an idea of an organized fleet of Equilos to fight off the Pirates as there was many reports of ships being sunk by the Quang Zi. The 20 people around Forlix agreed to the idea, seeing it would be most valuable to win more loot. So, the formed the Solar Syndicate after much planning and organization. The Equilos Galleys were organized and precised and were wining countless sea battles including the Battle of Sib, and the Battle of Horpe. These series of victories got the King interested in their accomplishments and sent a letter offering the company to privateer for Solarius in exchange of a salary and all the loot they find. They agreed and began working under the Solarius Navy. This contract would last for 150 years until in 906GD, when a Syndicate Ship unknowingly raided and kill a Solarian Noble on his Ship near the coast of Pelia. This sparked anger from the Noble's family, and order the King, Celestius VI, to invalidate the treaty between the Syndicate and the Kingdom. It would be a massive blow to the Syndacite, and soon, many of the members left as profit was decreasing. The current leader of the Syndicate, Alexios Montari decided to shift to an operation of criminal dealing with local gangs to increase their influence in the Criminal Underworld.
Start of Criminal Activiy
In August of 907GD, Alexios Montari announced to the Shadow Council that the Syndicate will grow its influence in the Criminal Underworld and particapte in criminal activity to increase profits. Some members of the Shadow Council think it would be unwise to do this, seeing how it will affect their reputation. This group were known as the Legal Group of Solar Syndicate who opposed Montari's actions to become a criminal organization. One of the main people from the group was Arthu Ronlan who was the most powerful member in the Syndicate besides the Syndios. The group of people that supported Montari's actions were known as the Paránomos or the "Unlawful" in Aquilan. This resulted in an internal civil war, called the Council Civil War that only lasted for 18 days, from August 31-September 18. It resulted in the Legal Group members being exiled from the Syndicate.
