Syrania, also known as the Republic of Syrania, is a democratic nation located in the Euresian region of Nortea. It is bordered by Azraelia to the north, Vitalia to the west, and Osatia to the east. Formerly the capital state of the Nortean Federation, Syrania is the most developed nation of the former Nortean Federation provinces in East Nortea, and the East Nortean nation with the highest GDP per capita. It is currently the second largest producer of oil in Euresia, succeeded only by Zagorno. Syrania is currently run by President Khorygzan of the Syranian Democratic Party [SDP], however is nominally dominated by the opposing Syranian First [SF1] political movement, which has caused recent political clashes within Syrania's government in 2021. Syrania is currently a member of numerous international organizations including the International Coalition of Nations [ICN], the Euresian Defense Organization [EDO], the Euresian Oil Organization [EOO], the Nortean Economic Rescue Fund [NERF], and the North Euresian Economic Development Organization [NEEDO].
Syrania was first founded in 1830 when the former Syranian Kingdoms unified together to form the Syranian Empire, which lasted for only two decades before the duchies of Azrel and Ikzi (modern-day Azraelia) elected to join the Empire, at which point it was reorganized into a Federation for long-term stability. This would see the founding of the Nortean Federation, which would be considered by historians as the first Syranian state, despite the ethnic diversity of the federation.
In 1994 the Federation would collapse due to secession of states and infighting between Azraelia and Syrania, which would boil into a brief civil war in 2000 that would last until 2007, at which point the Nortean Federation was dissolved and Syrania was born as an independent nation. This would shortly spark further tensions between Syrania and Azraelia, which would then culminate into the 2021 Magalian War, which continues into the present day.
