Taguchi Tanosuke (born 20 February 1993) is a former Professional Football Player and Empirian Politician who has been the Minister of Sports for Indian Empire since 2020.
Tanosuke played a total of six years in the Empirian Premier League, from 2009 to 2015, and led Povlsen Athletic to a total of two championships over this time period. He was also a notable member of Indian Empire FC from 2010 to 2014, and helped Indian Empire finish in 2nd place in the 2010 world cup. However, his career ended early due to a leg injury. Later, Tanosuke moved into politics, being elected to the House of Commons and becoming the Minister of Sports.
Early Life
Taguchi Tanosuke was born in 1993 on the southwest side of Povlsen, in a mountainous area of the city. He is the only child of Sawa Tanosuke and Asano Waka, and he grew up in a lowe-middle class family. Despite often having average to sometimes even lackluster grades, he excelled at sports, namely football, during Primary School. In secondary school at Mountain Village, he was regarded as one of the country's best teenage football players.
Professional Career
He was first accepted into Povlsen Sports Academy, where he played for six years. He began starting for the academy in 2006, where he quickly became considered one of Indian Empire's best Amateur Soccer players. He aged out of the academy upon his 16th birthday in 2009.
Povlsen Athletic
2009 Season
Upon turning professional in 2009, Tanosuke made the rare jump to the Empirian Premier League, the highest division of Football in Indian Empire, where he immediately became a starter in the midfield. In his rookie season, Tanosuke was a key player, helping Povlsen Athletic reach the postseason for the first time since 2004.
2010 Season and Onward
In his second season, Tanosuke broke out and had a career year, leading Povlsen Athletic to a championship.
However, his career came to an abrupt end when he broke his leg near the end of the 2014 season. He would retire after the 2015 season and would never play again.
International Career
Tanosuke was a part of the national team, Indian Empire FC, from 2010 to 2014. As a starter in the 2010 world cup, he led Indian Empire to the finals, causing the nation to finish in second place. He also competed at the 2012 Olympics and 2014 World Cup, but Indian Empire did not attain a notable placement in any of these.
Political Career
Parliament
In 2017, two years after his retirement, Tanosuke ran for Parliament in his home seat, Povlsen Mountain Village Northern, to replace the retiring Ryuzaki Tatsukichi. He was still broadly popular and won the seat handily.
In Parliament, Tanosuke immediately advocated for funding towards sports academies and other sports equipment.
Minister of Sports
In 2020, Taguchi Tanosuke was elected Minister of Sports of Indian Empire in a landslide.
Personal Life
Taguchi Tanosuke is married to Tamarine Palapol, an Empirian Volleyball player, and has been since November 2009. The two have four children, two sons and two daughters- Akio (b. 2010), Makino and Supaporn (b. 2012), and Taguchi (b. 2015). They live in a large villa in Povlsen.
