Most tambeki are about the size of a jaguar (70 cm tall and up to 120 kg), medium-sized and powerful cats that possessing two prominent sabre like teeth. The front limbs are particularly robust, due to the fact that the spend much of their time climbing trees, pulling themselves upward with their forelegs. The tambeki does not often attack humans, although they have been known to strike lone wanderes through the jungle of others that they believe to be easy prey, such as children or the elderly who wander too close to the treeline. For this reason, many villagers consider Tambeki as pests, and will often shoot them if they approach their villages
