The Gylian Herald (French reformed: L'Héraute d'Gylias) is a Gylian newspaper, founded in 1958. It is Gylias' leading socialist newspaper.
History
It was established in 1958, shortly after the end of the Liberation War.
During its Golden Revolution, its stance oscillated between market socialism and a certain sympathy towards aristerokratia. Later, it was notably supportive of the Social Partnership Program, praising its strong oversight mechanisms.
The 1990s saw it adopt new technology such as digital printing, establish its website, and digitise its archives through BiblioNet.
Profile
Its political orientation is socialist. Influenced by its location in Kausania, "Gylias' breadbasket", it displays a strong agrarian socialist tradition, and is unique among Gylias' high-circulation newspapers for its strong coverage of rural issues.
It publishes editions in English and French.
Ownership and organisation
The Gylian Herald is owned and published by Herald Publishing, legally constituted as an SA. Its headquarters are in Lakşas, Kausania.
The newspaper has a 5-member Management Board and a 10-member Supervisory Board, elected yearly.
Its revenue comes from newsagent's sales, paid subscriptions, online orders, and donations. Donors are listed at the end of each issue. It accepts classified advertising.
