The Republic of Worden was a short lived experiment in frontier democracy. Comprising of what is now Platalta and Tierra Worden in the Republic of Adrinian, the Republic sought to establish itself as an independent nation after intense trade regulation from Nueva Imperia and Vendria threatened to stifle its growth. The Congress of Platalta declared the Republic's independence on September 3rd, 1823, with the colonial militias seeing partial military success until the capture of Ausable on July 21st, 1827. With its capital and congress captured, the Republic sued for peace and was divided back up between the colonial powers in 1830.

During the Second Adrinian Civil War, there were some who debated reinstalling the Republic, this time including the territory of Angelesca, though this ultimately fell to the side as it became more clear that victory must be achieved through a change of government, not another separation.

Though the Republic has seen much upheaval since the Congress of Platalta time, their are some Adrinian citizens, particularly libertarians, who look back on the Republic of Worden very fondly. In fact, it is sometimes said that it is the Republic of Worden, not the First or Second Confederation, that is the true ancestor of the modern republic. Most view it as a time of unity in the face of colonial overregulation. The flag can still be spotted outside many houses in Platalta and Tierra Worden to this day, and is commonplace at anti-government demonstrations.
