The tales of the monster in Innanhafet or in Imerian (Innanhafs monstret), Jarnmål (Smehafs dragen) or Erathian (Lohikäärme sisämeri) have been discussed and sang about for centuries amongst the shores of Innanhafet or on Jarnarna that have regular contact with the coasts of Imeriata and Erathia either through trade or through raids. The dragon itself is a cryptid as Scanderan dragons often holds to the mountains of the north and large predators are rare in the shallow and calm region of Innanhafet despite the reports of ships going missing and people claiming to have seen the beast on foggy nights with a full moon so have no other evidence been found and people that have reported spotting it have never been attacked while ships lost have not reported back more than short radio messages. However so have a lot of bad photography of the beast been seen even if the slower native made cameras still used by the federation made this sort of evidence highly suspicious.
There are also several theories of where the dragon comes from and while Imerian and Erathian folklore says that it is the cursed river prince Hylfrid so does Jarnmän tells the tale of a great demon king that took this shape and escapes once every full moon to wreak havoc and to taunt the god of the sea and the god of ships with his near limitless power.
Over the years so have several expeditions been launched searching for the lost beast but they have either vanished or in most cases just not find anything of interest even if the great expedition of 1878 managed to bring back a picture of what they claimed was the great beast.
