The Third Federate Union, officially the Union of Federated States, was a federal semi-presidential republic established by the 1968 constitution that adopted the Federate Charter of Civil and Political Rights, recognized several seccesion of states (Khersia, Gasaria, and Novdon), and divided Tasia into the federated states of Upper Tasia, Lower Tasia, and Moldoss. The state implemented changes envisioned by Federate Reformists during the Popular Uprisings.
During its existence, the state was governed in a multi-party system led by the Democratic Party. Simeon Bosev was the General Sovereign. The state endured hyperinflation and currency devaluation from rapid privatization and asset stripping, and the military remained influential domestically.
The 1974 coup d'état under Milan Badu and his takeover of the state ended the Third Federate Union.
The Democratic Revolution in 1991 restored much of the Third Federate Union into the current Fifth Federate Union.
