Thomas Plume (born 12th of June, 1950 ) was the 14th Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom of Malgrave.
Early life and career
Thomas Plume was born in Epping Central Hospital on the 12th of June, 1950 to Alfred and Julia Plume during a period of heavy construction and instability for the country. As Alfred and Julia both worked for the re-emerging Ministry of Science and Engineering the pair lived in a central residential accommodation unit relatively free from the threat of violence, but growing up the family still suffered from the pollution, lack of resources and the rather turbulent atmosphere of the 50's. During his time at secondary school his teachers noted that he had a fierce passion for mathematics, statistics and economics and was spotted numerous times selling goods for the local student union, and he was subsequently moved to a higher class for those academic fields. After studying Economics and Politics at Royal Epping University Thomas began to work for Royal Malgravean Finance and quickly became known inside the company for his sharp wit and ability to settle internal disputes
In 1982 Thomas Plume became an official member of the Progressive Unity Party and began to get involved in the anti-isolationist movement in the party, initially this hampered Plume's career in the party but in 1990 he became Shadow Minister of Communication and Labour for four years before being moved to Shadow Minister Agriculture and Rural Development. Following the successful election of the PUP in 2000 Thomas Plume became Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development becoming popular for his reforms to make the Malgravean agricultural community competitive in the international market.
Following the re-election of the PUP in 2005 Thomas became Minister Housing and Urban Development and once again continued to prove a popular member of the cabinet, during this time however Thomas remained interested in foreign affairs and in the aftermath of the 2009 Epping Metro Bombing Thomas Plume was promoted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development
During his time as Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Thomas Plume successfully pushed for a temporary increase in agricultural subsidies to pay for modernisation needed for the farming sector to compete with the international community, in addition Thomas also increased support for rural infrastructure development and worked with the Ministry of Tourism to promote other forms of economic activity in a region that had previously been dominated by agriculture and mining.
Minister of Housing and Urban Development
As Minister of Housing and Urban Development Thomas Plume started work on the research colony situated in the Northern Pony Lands and instituted a series of reforms to make it easier for individuals to construct and purchase residential properties.
