Three Power Treaty
The General Treaty with Regards to the Rights of Reinkalistan, commonly referred to as the Three Power Treaty, was an economic and political document delineating the relations between the Reinkalistani Dezukirikate, Kayan Empire, and Dhoerish Union. It was signed on the 25th of January, 1925, the year following the assassination of Reinkalistan's anti-Kayan King and war hero Alexander Horoshoski, replacing him with his brother, King Ioszib. Nominally a delineation of Reinkalistan's border security and common trade relations with the other two states, it signed away key resource, infrastructure, and land rights in Reinkalistan to Kayan and Dhoerish companies for far less than these were actually worth. The result was a large decline in the standard of living in Reinkalistan, a steady rise in institutional corruption, and the loss of Reinkalistani national independence.
While the Treaty was initially intended to be just between Reinkalistan and Kayastadt, Emperor Frederick XVIV of Kayastadt, considering the degree of public unrest in Reinkalistan at the time, opted to unexpectedly involve his long-time rival Dhoeria in order to put a Dhoerish stake in the region and reduce the potential of resistance to the Treaty. While Dhoeria was initially hesitant, Frederick made a series of further concessions in Reinkalistan which ultimately sealed the deal. In 1964, the Reinkalistani Revolution effectively ended the Treaty, as the vast majority of the territory with foreign land rights was seized by the Communist South Reinkalistan, which refused to acknowledge any treaty signed by the Dezukirikate. Dhoeria upheld the treaty until 1983, when South Reinkalistan joined its war against Kayastadt, and Kayastadt likewise abandoned the treaty in 1985 when its capital was occupied by the Reinkalistani Red Army and the Kayan government effectively collapsed.
